The Best is Yet to Come

In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

In the world in which we live, people will always judge others based on a person’s status in the community, where he is in an organization, the clothes she wears, the car she drives, and the list goes on and on.

Suppose a person who holds a doctorate and a master’s degree is seen washing dishes at a restaurant. The worldly would view him as someone with an obvious low intelligence quotient or IQ. They would view that person as someone who is of little or no value to society and yet, they see themselves as valuable assets to society.

Thank God that in His kingdom everyone is valued equally and is an important part of the greater whole of His holy work. In God’s kingdom, it’s not all about the individual, it’s all about God.

There are no jobs in heaven that are considered to be of little value, mundane, or meaningless. The saints who perform those tasks are seen neither great nor small, wise or unwise, intelligent or unintelligent, but instead, they are seen as good and faithful servants.

So when the world starts to drag you down, when it treats you as inferior to itself, when it devalues your intellect remember that you are created in the image of your Creator — the image of God. You are special to God and He values you greatly. He values and loves you so much that He paid the ultimate price so that you may one day walk with Him on the streets of gold in His kingdom.

God began to change the world by spreading the gospel through the faithful service of men who were fishermen, tax collectors, and other tradesmen. So ask yourself, “What then can He accomplish through me and my faithful service?” Answer His call by saying, “Here I am Lord, send me!”

Aw, this was an exceptionally nice post. Taking a few minutes and
actual effort to make a top notch article… but what can I say… I put
things off a whole lot and don’t manage to get anything done.
