Hi, Friends,
The picture below shows a fairway at an abandoned golf course. The fairway was once a lush green landscape that got daily care and feeding to keep it healthy and strong to weather any storm. However, once the daily care ceased, the weeds quickly began to infiltrate, consume, and reshape the landscape.

We can say the same thing about our human condition. When we spend time daily in God’s word, we receive the care and feeding that keeps us spiritually healthy and strong to weather any storm. However, without that daily care, sin can quickly infiltrate, consume, and reshape our hearts’ landscape.
That is why Joshua, when it comes to reading and studying God’s word, encourages us to “meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Josh. 1:8).
Blessings,
Darryl Orrell
