Do or have you ever felt as though you were of little value? In other words, do you feel as though your contributions in this life go unappreciated or even unnoticed, and if you were absent, no one would notice, nor would it make a difference?
If so, you are not alone because more people than not have likely encountered those same feelings at one time or another. Here is the good news; God considers you to be of great value above all creation, and Jesus once shared a parable that perfectly illustrates that fact.
“The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.”Matt. 13:45-46
You are the fine pearl, the soul, of whom the merchant, Jesus, sought out. Jesus, who gave up His life to die on a cross to purchase you that you would not perish, but have eternal life with Him in heaven. Jesus said:
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life [as] a ransom for many.”Mark 10:45-46
Therefore, no matter how much the world tries to tear you down or push you aside, know in your heart that God values you greatly, know that He takes notice of everything that you do, and know that He has a plan and a purpose for your life. The LORD said:
“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11
Now, let us boldly venture into the world for God’s glory to seek other pearls of great price, i.e., seek out the lost, share the gospel, and make disciples for Jesus Christ.
