“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”Matthew 9:37
As He traveled from place to place, Jesus preached the kingdom’s gospel and healed people every disease. He had a heart of compassion for the people, which prompted Him to say this to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”
He said this because even though there were many religious leaders in that day, their interest focused on the sabbath, fasting, and purification rites. However, the workers whom Jesus seeks are those who have a genuine heart for the people and will tend to their needs. Not much has changed in some 2000 years. For example, many Christians today are interested in building church programs, arguing about worship music, and judging one another. However, Jesus is seeking followers who have a genuine heart to serve the Lord and share the gospel, to help people in their time of need, in their affliction, just as He did during His earthly ministry.
Therefore, let us always seek opportunities to help those in need, those who are hurting, those who are hungry, those who need a hope that only the Lord Jesus Christ can provide and guarantee. Let us always seek ways to show and tell the gospel.

“God never leaves you nor forsakes you.” I’ve heard that before. “Jesus will leave the 99 to come after you.” I’ve heard that one too. Meanwhile, fear creeps up when life hurls a season of loneliness our way, and poof! Churchy sayings hold as much weight as thin air. Believe it or not, God is cheering us on and inviting us to thrive amidst the loneliness. Yes, it’s weird and scary, but this emptiness is a safe space where you get to hear the God of everything speak the loudest. You’re safe because God is so good at owning goodness, and because of Him, you aren’t so by yourself.”
