Death is Not the End, It’s the Beginning!

“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

1 Corinthians 15:52

At some point, everyone ponders on dying and, in some cases, fear it as a predator that stalks them through life. However, death is not the end of life; instead, death is a transition from one state of existence to another. In the chapter that contains this verse, Apostle Paul is comforting the Corinthian church by educating them about death and the afterlife. He tells them about a mystery, something that no one can fully comprehend. He tells them that not all Christians will sleep, i.e., experience physical death. Paul is speaking about the rapture of the church.

Now, you will not find the word rapture written in your Bible, unless of course, you have a Latin translation. The Latin Bible uses the phrase rapturo, which translates to the Greek word harpazo, meaning to snatch away. That is the event Paul describes, in the blink of an eye, Christians who have died will rise first, and those living will be changed in less than a nanosecond—changed into what? We will be made imperishable, impervious to corruption with new spiritual bodies, and the best part, we will rise to meet Jesus in the clouds and will be in His presence forever.

Therefore, rejoice and be glad because the next major event on the prophetic calendar, in my opinion, is the rapture of the church. When we look at the ongoing world events, it’s easy to see that prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes. While no one knows the day or time, not even Jesus Himself, we can recognize the signs of the times that Jesus spoke about with His disciples. So again, let us rejoice because our day of redemption is drawing ever so near.

Blessings.
