Jesus Christ Is He!

“The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”  Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

John 4:25-26/NIV

When Jesus Christ began His earthly ministry walking with humanity and providing essential truths, the Bible reflects many people did not know who He was.  We are fortunate to have the Bible to read about Jesus from His birth to ascension into heaven; we know the “whole” story!  We see many different prophesies foretelling Jesus’ coming and why as we read the Old Testament,.  Many biblical passages that reflect people who rejected the Good News about Jesus Christ, and many sought to plan His death.

Many Bible verses that inform readers about Jesus Christ and why He came to earth.  John 3:16 (NIV) makes the reason very clear: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  The Bible tells us that if we repent from our sins and express faith and belief in Jesus Christ, we will achieve salvation and eternity in heaven after our life on earth is over.  This passage, as well as many others, reflects how much God loves us!  He gave His Son for us!

As we read the Bible and integrate the learned truths into our walk, we will know how to act.  “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12/NIV).  As we read the Bible and review how Jesus treated others, He is a role model for us!  As we follow His teachings which guide us with our actions, we will have the “light of Life” (Jesus) in us and never walk in darkness.

As I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Savior, I will seek to read the Bible and learn as much as I can about Him.  As a follower of Jesus Christ, I will seek to be like Him and demonstrate love to others in the same way He showed us.  He did provide this command: “love each other as I have loved you” (John 15:12).  Jesus, as I know you are the Messiah, I am thankful I have the Bible to read, which reflects how You explained essential truths to me.  I know that you are “He!”

Self-reflection consideration: Do I know who Jesus Christ is, and is He your Lord and personal Savior?

Many blessings to you!
