“Behold, now is“a favorable time,” behold, now is “a day of salvation”
2 Corinthians 6:2
One of the great promises in the Bible that speaks so clearly comes from John’s gospel where Jesus said, “All that the Father gives to me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.” That says to me that no matter the condition of my human weakness or the human flaws that compete against me, He will not turn me away. He will not reject me; instead, He welcomes me with tender, loving, and open arms.
Undoubtedly, everyone can identify with the hurt that comes with rejection. I have shared my experience from having to grow up being rejected by family because I was adopted. I carried that hurt, the resentment, and yes, the bitterness for a long time until one day, the peace from God came over me, and the Spirit spoke to my heart, and these words came to mind, “You are of My blood and My family.”
The promise of acceptance, given by Jesus, applies to all who, by faith, choose to follow Him. We know the world is full of disappointments, we know it is littered with broken promises, and we have all seen various forms of rejection, but Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” and “the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out” (John 6:37; 14:6).
Therefore, if you do not know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, now is the time to commit your life to Christ and experience life like never before as an accepted child of God. Now is the time for your salvation, for Scripture teaches us, “the kingdom of God is at hand” (Mark 1:15). How can I do so? Great question. To accept Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord and be forgiven of sin by His life-saving blood, then all you need to do is call upon His name right now in prayer.
You can either lift your prayer or use the prayer below as a guide, but remember, you must confess you are a sinner, that you believe Jesus is the Son of God who died on a cross for your sins and that he rose from the grave. You must do this with a heart of repentance, meaning you will turn away from your sin, from that which displeases God. Understand that you are not coming to Christ through intellectual ascent but by faith. Let us pray.
Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and ask for your forgiveness with a heart of repentance. By faith, I believe that Jesus is Your only begotten Son who died on a cross for my sins. I think that you raised Him from the dead and that He now sits at Your right hand. I humbly confess Him as my Savior and Lord, and I welcome the Holy Spirit into my life to help and guide me along the narrow path that leads to eternal life in heaven. Thank Father, and I lift this prayer to You in the blessed and holy name of Jesus, Amen.
If you prayed that prayer or lifted your own to invite Jesus into your life as your Savior and Lord, welcome to the family of God! We ask that you please leave a comment below to rejoice with you and pray for you. Please be also encouraged to contact a Christian friend or your local Bible-believing church and tell your friend or someone at the church that you accepted Jesus into your life. That person will gladly guide you in the steps ahead to help you grow stronger in your faith and closer to God.
